She had everything all organised for me with an Oyster travel card all done with money on it all ready to work on the buses and tube. We went back to the flat in Rosedew Road and dumped the suitcase and started exploring straight away.
Amy is a fabulous tour guide and knew just where to go. First stop was Buckingham Palace- we got out of the underground and walked along the Mall to the Palace itself. Notice the horse poo- there must have been a display or some other such thing! And also we saw blue sky!
This is the New Zealand memorial in Hyde Park- we stopped to pay our respects. There must have been something on cos all the traffic was blocked off and we were able to get really good views and photos of things without hoards of people getting in the way.
The guard at the palace had a really big gun but the little pretend guards looked rather silly really.

The gates looked impressive and I remembered those photos of all the flowers after Princess Di died leaning against the gates- the flag was flying- does that mean that Queenie was home???
Amy had a gorilla tripod so we set it up on a traffic sign and grabbed a photo of just us- we were having so much fun- running to get in front of the camera.
Next stop was a walk in the park with lots of little squirrels all darting about doing something- and a rather large white swan.
Big Ben was impressive because of the intricate designs in the woodwork- it certainly took someone a very long time to make.

I am really pleased with my new camera as it is getting the photos that I want to capture really well. After that rather busy day it was home again for some hot soup and bread and a rather early night for me.
