Ten Years On-Autumnal Colour

We had a bit of an adventure today as I took Mum and Mac for a drive to Dovedale to look at the colours of the beginning of autumn and to visit with a woman who was a Fairweather and may be related in some way!This old cart wheel and farm shed must have stories to tell.
This odd looking bush was across the road from the farmhouse we visited.
I might take this one for a test drive as well. Air conditioning works well!
We called for a cuppa at Kahurangi Estate on the way home. Their menu took my fancy- it was a grape stalk threaded with a rubber band through punched holes.
It is ten years ago today that Dad passed away. How quickly that time passes. In some ways it seems like such a long time and in others like yesterday.

Chrysler PT Cruiser

How's about this for the car that I didn't buy! After our American's visitors left last week I got to thinking about how tiny my car is in the rear and how something funky and cool might be nice. This little beauty was $25,990 and in a rush of blood to the head I took it for a test drive yesterday. If I had won Lotto on Saturday night I would have bought it but unfortunately no!It was nice and high, had plenty of head room for Danny and Mum's wheelchair fitted in the back fine but the power to weight ratio was't good- or so the boys told me (my car life-coach anyway).

Heron Visit

The old fir tree down by the river is slowly dying and has become more of a resting place for shags and herons. As I parked on the lawn today I noticed this beauty enjoying the last of the sun's rays. He could probably see right across town from his lofty perch.
My big camera has an excellent 10x optical zoom and anti-vibration at the top end of the digital zoom that lets you do decent hand held shots if time is of the essence.

Dentist Visit

Today I had to go to the dentist as a filling had fallen apart last week. I am now $176 poorer than I was this morning and after two X-rays have to go back for another go next week.

That is awfully dear don't you think?

Also I made another blog to record what I think about teaching and learning and recording my good finds ICT - wise.
